Day 10... glad I'm back..

A Note to all.... the health issue I mentioned was resolved... thanks for the three days off.... and now we get to check out the first mention of Abortion Services... the part of the Healthcare Bill that I am most interested in.
Last post, I copied (cut & pasted) the word for word section.
Section 1303.
- there will be no requirement that a qualified health plan provide coverage of abortion services.
- the issuer of a qualified health plan shall determine whether or not the plan provides abortion services.
- Abortion services in this section are described as not being funded with Federal funds from Dept. of Health and Human Services.
- also there is a prohibition of using Federal Funds for Abortion Services in any community health ins. option YEAH! Critics of Federal funding are aware of this section. The concern comes later when the community health clinics are set up - the concern is that Planned Parenthood will qualify and receive even more Federal Funds. I'll cover this topic in detail when we get to that section.
- if a state requires that community health ins. option coverage includes Abortion Services, the State must assure that no funds flowing through or from the community health insurance option, and no other Federal funds, pay or defray the cost of providing coverage of services.
- apparently Fed. funds can pay for Abortion services under: The current Social Security Act: Child Health Assistance. payment for part or all of the cost of health benefits coverage for targeted low-income children: Abortion only if necessary to save the life of the mother or if the pregnancy is the result of an act of rape or incest.
- nothing in this Health care bill will alter the payment of the Social Security Act coverage.
- nothing in this Health care bill will preempt or effect in any way the State laws regarding the prohibition of or requirement of coverage of abortion.
- nothing in this Health care bill shall have any affect on Federal laws regarding
- conscience protection (YEAH!)
- willingness or refusal to provide abortion (YEAH!)
- discrimination on the basis of the above two situations (YEAH!)
- nothing in this Health care bill shall alter the rights and obligations of employees/employers under
the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
- health care providers must still provide emergency services as required by laws..

I am using a different printout of the Health Care bill that gives me page numbers - we are on page 53.
We will have to speed it up to get any where -
